2026 Jazz & Contemporary Music Intensive June 22nd-26th

This is a unique weeklong jazz intensive designed for advanced high school students in grades 9th-12th.   Daily sessions will run from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, featuring a 45-minute break for lunch. Evening attendance at professional music performances will be scheduled as part of the summer intensive.  All accepted students will be part of the PNW Advanced Summer Intensive Symphonic Jazz Orchestra. 

We currently have remaining spaces open for violin (2), viola (2), and cello (2).  

The repertoire we will be rehearsing and performing  daily will include orchestral arrangements of contemporary jazz standards by Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Joe Henderson, Slide Hampton, Charles Mingus, Mary Lou Williams, John Coltrane and Don Ellis.
